One of the ways Cooking for the Crowd operates is through private, high-end dining experiences. These private dinners are held with custom care with menus catered to personal palettes. While yes, they are pricey and include multiple courses, the profits go right back into the mission of Cooking for the Crowd - to make delicious, homemade food for non-profits that serve marginalized communities. Plus, the donor gets to make a generous tax write off above and beyond the hard costs associated with the dinner. A win-win!
Recently on a chilly evening, Cooking for the Crowd produced one such experience for a Dallas couple that wanted to entertain some friends for a special evening. The table was set and the meal started with a cheese board followed by a fresh soup and salad, plated to perfection. Elizabeth shared a little about the meal along the way for a food-focused evening of fun.
The main course was a crowd pleaser, plated in front of guests in an open and airy kitchen, while the attendees visited and sipped on French wines.
Dessert was the final course of the meal and was coupled with rare, 100 year old dessert wines that Elizabeth had brought back from her last trip abroad. Everyone was pleased and excited to learn more about both the rare wines and Cooking for the Crowd!
Cooking for the Crowd was founded with the simple premise: Love, respect and dignity are foundational to human potential and the fact that small non-profit organizations inefficiently spend much of their time and resources feeding the people they serve, regardless of their actual mission. This essay shares Cooking for the Crowd's mission: to take cooking off a non-profit organization's plate so they can focus on their mission. A high end dining experience is a wonderful way to support Cooking for the Crowd AND fulfill this mission at the same time!
