MEET OUR FOUNDER & CEO
Elizabeth Furrh
Elizabeth is a Registered Nurse with over 25 years of experience in public health and community care. Her career began in the Dallas Independent School District, where she spent six years supporting middle and high school students and their families, work that shaped her understanding of how health, food, and community are deeply intertwined.
An entrepreneur at heart, Elizabeth founded and operated La Dolce Vita, a neighborhood restaurant and espresso bar in Lakewood. More than a dining destination, it was a gathering place and a proving ground for her belief that food builds belonging.
In 2016, Elizabeth began volunteering with the St. Patrick Refugee Outreach Program. What started as a single act of service became the foundation for Cooking for the Crowd, an organization she built from the ground up to serve nonprofits across Dallas. By taking meal preparation off the table, Cooking for the Crowd frees organizations to focus fully on their mission while ensuring the people they serve are fed with care and dignity.
Elizabeth leads with the conviction that food is one of the most powerful tools for human connection. Her work continues to create spaces where communities feel seen, supported, and able to thrive.
