After an amazing 8-month journey through the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas Social Innovation Accelerator program, Cooking for the Crowd is proud to share that we walked away with $45,000 in funding to continue growing our mission.

From August 2025 through April 2026, Elizabeth participated in bootcamps, mentorship meetings, and milestone-based development designed to help innovative nonprofits scale their impact. The program challenged us to think bigger and gave us the tools to strengthen our operations, expand our reach, and continue serving our community in an even bigger way.

At The Pitch, our Founder & CEO, Elizabeth Furrh, delivered a five-minute presentation sharing the heart behind Cooking for the Crowd’s mission: supporting nonprofits across our community through nourishing meals and helping organizations redirect more of their budgets back into the people they serve.

After a tough round of voting, we were honored to walk away with two awards: a $25,000 finalist award and the coveted Innovation Award for $20,000!!

We were truly blown away by the support in the room and are so grateful to everyone who has believed in our mission over the years. This funding will help us continue growing our impact across North Texas and begin laying the groundwork for other cities to replicate this model of community care.

Cheers to us!!
